A Georgia nonprofit is giving high school students more than business advice—it’s giving them the opportunity to launch real companies.

NEST (New Entrepreneurs Shaping Tomorrow) has opened registration for its next statewide business competition, where Georgia high school students can pitch original business ideas for a chance to receive seed funding, mentorship, and hands-on entrepreneurial experience.

The nonprofit was created to expand access to business and financial education for students who may not otherwise have opportunities to explore entrepreneurship. Through free seminars and mentorship, participants develop practical skills in budgeting, marketing, public speaking, and business planning before presenting their ideas to a panel of judges.

The upcoming competition will award $5,000 for first place, $2,500 for second, and $1,000 for third, with funding intended to help students turn their ideas into operating businesses. Students retain full ownership of their ventures.

Registration is free and open to Georgia high school students, competing individually or in teams of up to four. Early submissions are due August 10, with the final application deadline on August 24.

At the Greater South Fulton Chamber, we believe entrepreneurship can begin at any age. Programs like NEST help equip the next generation of business owners with the confidence, knowledge, and resources to turn great ideas into thriving businesses.
