For Erica and Shanticleer Graham, caring for older adults is more than a business opportunity. It is a commitment to helping seniors remain connected, respected, and supported in the communities they call home.

As the local owners of Seniors Helping Seniors® Atlanta Southwest, Erica and Shanticleer are building a home care agency centered on hands-on leadership, dependable service, and meaningful relationships between seniors and caregivers.

Their goal is clear: to become the home care agency of choice for Southwest Atlanta and the surrounding communities.

“We want families to know they have a trusted local resource when an aging loved one begins needing extra support,” said Shanticleer. “Whether the need is companionship, help after a hospital or rehabilitation stay, respite for a family caregiver, or assistance with everyday routines, our role is to help families find a practical path forward.”

A Different Approach to Home Care

Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services was founded on two simple ideas: seniors can help one another age happily and gracefully, and both the person giving support and the person receiving it can benefit from the relationship.

The organization’s mission is to help seniors maintain an independent lifestyle in their own homes for as long as possible, with the dignity and respect they deserve.

The Atlanta Southwest location brings that mission to life by connecting older adults with compassionate caregivers who can provide dependable, non-medical assistance. Services may include:

The approach is designed to preserve independence rather than take it away. Care begins with understanding the senior’s needs, routines, personality, preferences, and family situation.

Hands-On Local Ownership

rica and Shanticleer are actively involved in the agency’s daily operations, including client support, caregiver recruitment, scheduling, quality oversight, community outreach, and relationship development.

Shanticleer brings more than 20 years of healthcare and pharmacy-related experience, along with a background in business operations, project management, technology, and organizational leadership. He is also a veteran and a certified pharmacy technician.

Together, Erica and Shanticleer combine professional experience with a personal, community-centered approach. Families and referral partners are not dealing with distant corporate representatives. They are working with local owners who are accessible, accountable, and invested in the quality of every relationship.

“We believe local ownership matters,” Erica said. “Families should be able to speak with people who understand the community, respond when concerns arise, and take personal responsibility for the service being provided.”

Supporting Families Before and During a Crisis

Many families do not know when it is time to consider home care. The need often develops gradually.

A parent may stop driving. Meals may become inconsistent. An adult child may begin missing work to help with appointments and errands. A spouse caregiver may become exhausted. A senior returning home after rehabilitation may be medically cleared for discharge but still need help managing everyday life.

Seniors Helping Seniors® Atlanta Southwest helps families respond to these situations with practical support that can begin on a manageable schedule and expand as needs change.

The agency also works to build trusted relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, home health and hospice organizations, senior living communities, physicians, churches, senior centers, elder law professionals, and other organizations serving older adults.

The Grahams view these relationships as more than referral channels. They see them as part of a community support network that can help families reach appropriate resources at the right time.
